Hong Kong Pools – Reopening After a Two-Week Delay

Swimming is a great way to relax and beat the summer heat. It also has many health benefits, from improving cardiovascular fitness to reducing stress and depression. So this summer, head to one of Hong Kong’s best hongkong pools and take a refreshing dip!

All of Hong Kong’s public pools have reopened and are ready to cool off the summer. Whether you’re looking for a place to practice your backstroke or just a place to hang out with the family, Hong Kong has some of the best pools around. Plus, swimming is a fun and healthy activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages!

The reopening of the city’s pools follows a two-week delay due to a miscommunication between government officials and lifeguard unions. The initial easing of coronavirus restrictions would have allowed all public swimming pools to reopen last Thursday, but 38 of them were forced to stay closed one week longer due to disinfection and staff shortages. The remaining 24 will open on Monday, with the number of swimmers at each pool capped at 50 per cent of the facility’s capacity.

While the reopening of swimming pools has brought relief to swimmers, the city is still urging the public to continue to exercise caution. The coronavirus infection that first hit Hong Kong has now killed 101 people, and new cases are now down to low single-digits from the triple digits seen in June. As the city continues to reopen bars, swimming pools and theme parks, officials have called for continued vigilance and reminded the public not to become complacent.

Located in the southern district, this is one of Hong Kong’s largest swimming pools and sports centres with both indoor and outdoor pools. The facility offers multiple lanes for training, a freeform teaching pool, and even a lazy river! The water is pristine, and the facilities are well maintained. Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful.
